Here’s one album announcement that was done in a much quieter fashion than expected. Billboard casually shared the release date for Nicki Minaj’s The Pink Print earlier today as part of their fall album preview. As it stands, the project will release on Black Friday, November 28.
Adding her album to customers’ Black Friday shopping cart is nothing new to Onika. In 2010, her debut album Pink Friday released Black Friday, November 19. The only difference is this year she’s been engaged in an unofficial battle with Grand Hustle’s Iggy Azalea for the title of top female rap artist. Currently, Nicki’s “Anaconda” is sitting near the top of the charts at no. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100, thanks in part to the provocative video associated with it. The previous single “Pills N Potions” peaked at no. 7.
Her two previous LPs – the aforementioned Pink Friday and 2012’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – were no. 1 albums for Minaj.
