Taylor Bennett couldn’t be doing a better job paving his own path. With talent so raw, listeners find themselves reluctant to even mention his older brother when it comes to being critical.
In his first release since dropping Mainstream Music this past May (get it here), Bennett silences the naysayers in “Hatin’,” a cut produced by Pharaoh El that Taylor. Donning a Superman costume on the artwork, the young Chicago MC lives up to the image with the release of his new track, which boasts his rambunctious flow while quieting the haters. The song’s so damn catchy that I’ve had it constantly spinning since I first heard it. It appears that Bennett’s sound lines up closely with the Chicago influences we’d expect, but he’s got a hubris and an attitude that sets himself apart from the rest.
As his abilities behind the mic prove, Taylor’s another budding star coming out of the Wind City.
