In the past few weeks, my affinity for Converse has grown after seeing the WBF pack of Pro Models, the quality materials plus the overall simplicity of the design grabbed my attention. After overlooking them for so long, the brand’s moved into a whole new light for me but I was stuck wondering which pairs to pick up next. Nobody wants the Chucks they typically stock at mall-branded stores, but diggin’ around for the best pairs was tough since there’s so many different models and versions out.
Thankfully, all my friends are shoe aficionados with diverse taste so I called on Duk-ki, owner of MAJOR in DC, to highlight five notable Converse that are out right now and worth the coin. These are all a part of Converse’s First String program which partners up the brand with some of the best sneaker boutiques in the country. Since all shoes are curated for early adopters, they’re released in limited quantities in the US, which vary from 150 to 300 pairs. In other words, these aren’t your average Chucks.
