When news broke that Jordan Brand would be “remastering” many of their sneakers, they came with a nugget that sneakerheads everywhere jumped on – pictures of a pair of Jordan 4’s known affectionately as the ‘Oreos,’ named for their almost all black upper and outsole with a speckled grey midsole sandwiched in between.
The mere sight of one of the most sought after Jordans yet to be retroed had fans everywhere salivating at the idea of purchasing a pair. Now, some concrete release information has finally hit the Internet, and all heads will have a chance to cop the ‘Oreos’ soon. How soon? There’s no set date but they’re rumored to be dropping in February 2015, which isn’t far away at this point.
Previously, Gotty covered all the details of what the remastering process is supposed to entail and, judging by the pictures, JB has made good on their promises. From the softer leather to the more detailed Jumpman logo on the heel tabs and the speckles on the eyelets the Oreos are looking like an instant cop.
The jump in quality does of course come with a jump in cost, the $190 retail price up from the $160 price tag on the most recent iterations of the 4s. So hit your reseller, line your dates up with your plug or whatever it is you do to ensure you get a pair because they’re hitting stores in less than 90 days. You don’t want to have to wait another 16 years to get a pair.
