Next up in the Jordan ‘Lab’ series for 2014 is the Air Jordan 5LAB3. These are undoubtedly an early entry for the most gaudy Jordans of 2014. The reflective material from the tongue of the Air Jordan 5 makes its mark on the entire upper on a Jordan 3, with a completely ice sole.
Less of an eyesore than the Trainer ‘Super Bowls,’ but not by much. There’s no middle ground with these. Folks either love them or hate them. I’m pretty sure readers know where I stand with these.
The lone bright spot with The 5LAB3s (no pun intended) is the leather sockliner. And while I can appreciate the attention paid to the ice eyelets and relatively simple color-blocking, this pair just falls short for some reason. Nevertheless, the quality looks to be on point and the price tag confirms that, with the shoes hitting for $225. An interesting take on another type of hybrid, to say the least.
The Air Jordan 5LAB3 drops on March 29th.
