Alex Wiley Ft. Vic Mensa – “Jerseys & Loafers” (Prod. By Chuck Inglish)

The irony behind Alex Wiley’s exquisite performance on “Jerseys & Loafers” is that if you watch the accompanying five minute documentary from his Closed Sessions label, you’ll hear him say the beat isn’t his comfort zone. Well, if you ask me, maybe it should be.

Atop Chuck Inglish’s swirling pads and always-thumping drums, the versatile Chicago MC delivers his interweaving mix of rapid-fire flows and eccentric singing. However, that’s only after Vic Mensa from Kids These Days kicks off the track with a bang of his own.

Basically, this Illinois trio come together quite nicely to deliver some quality mood music to everyone’s ears. That said, let’s hope Alex dabbles a little more in this relaxed route with his raps, rather than some of the boisterous material we’ve heard prior.
