That’s the combined age of the three men in the ring for the main event of Impact Wrestling’s latest broadcast. Sting and Ric Flair used to have the greatest rivalry in all of wrestling…and they’ve also essentially had the same match on repeat for the last 25 years. Watching Flair out there wrestling at his age, looking so old and worn down is such a tragic sight which is only compounded by that Grantland article chronicling his decline. The man can’t even bend his legs enough to take the Scorpion Deathlock. Even more alarming was the report that Flair may have been having heart issues during the match.
“The backstage reviews for the Ric Flair vs. Sting match that was taped for Thursday’s Impact Wrestling television show have not been positive. One observer stated that it was so bad that it has no business airing on television. Flair apparently suffered a left arm injury during the match, but the severity of the injury has not been disclosed.”
And to add a little youth to the whole fiasco is Hulk Hogan, who’ll be wrestling Sting at the next pay-per-view. It’s like those old “Billionaire Ted” skits have come to life.
I joke to stop from crying. You all know how much of a Ric Flair fan I am, and watching the man tarnish his health and his legacy is pretty f*cking heartbreaking. Someone needs to help before it’s too late.
