That controversy surrounding Beyonce’s Super Bowl 50 performance isn’t going away. Complainers who found Beyonce’s homage to the Black Panthers problematic are planning on taking their #BoycottBeyonce tweets to the streets.
An Eventbrite just popped up for an Anti-Beyonce protest rally taking place in front of NFL headquarters in New York City next week. The anonymous organizer in charge of the rally says the protest is for anyone who found themselves offended by Bey’s “race-baiting,” anti-police set. “Are you offended as an American that Beyonce pulled her race-baiting stunt at the Superbowl? Do you agree that it was a slap in the face to law enforcement? Do you agree that the Black Panthers was/is a hate group which should not be glorified?”
Individuals who answer “Yaaassss!” to any of the questions are urged to attend the rally so they can tell the NFL they “don’t want hate speech and racism at the Super Bowl ever again.” The protest takes place Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., outside the NFL headquarters. The invite does ask for protesters to be peaceful, but fails to take into account the BeyHive swarming and shutting everything down.
An anti anti-Beyonce protest rally has also been scheduled for the same date, time and location as the anti-Beyonce rally. And this one may be a bit more fun because protestors are urged to dress in their best “Formation” video/Super Bowl performance-inspired attire.
