Apollo Brown recently released Everything in Between with his group, Ugly Heroes, but apparently the Detroit producer still had more music in the stash. Next up is a collaboration with Brooklyn’s Skyzoo for a joint album called The Easy Truth, led by its first single, “One in the Same.”

The new track uses a beautiful piano loop and a dusty sample to lay the foundation for Skyzoo’s introspective bars about growing up in his neighborhood and the path not taken, supported by soulful vocals from Patty Crash.

“This joint is easily one of my favorite songs I’ve ever produced” Apollo Brown said via PR. “Skyzoo and Patty Crash brought the music to life, then laid it to rest at the same time. I knew it had the potential to be an amazing song when I finished the beat.”

“When I first heard the beat, I knew it would open up the album,” Skyzoo added. “Ironically it was the first beat Apollo played for me out of the batch, and I knew it was exactly how I wanted the project to begin. I hadn’t even told him what my approach would be with the album yet and he somehow nailed it blindly.”

The Easy Truth is available September 30 on Mello Music Group. Pre-order it on Bandcamp and iTunes.
