With the usual lack of major releases dropping in the first quarter of 2014 (ScHoolboy Q’s album being the exception; correct me if you think I’m overlooking anything in the comments. Not that you guys need an invitation), the Harlem collective could creep on ah come up and take over your iPod’s “Recently Played” for much of the still-new year.
Continuing with their obsession with epic, medieval-type sh*t, the name of the group’s debut album will be L.O.R.D.. Expect it March 4th, per XXL. The XXL story coincides with a tweet sent out by Ferg back in December.
It’s official now, so where does everyone stand? Excited? Indifferent?
Taking the “wait and see” approach? After an uber-succesful mixtape and very-good album, A$AP Rocky has moved passed the “up-and-coming” label. He’s established. His Mob? Ehhh, we’ll see. While it was a good listen, Trap Lord wasn’t the delightfully ignorant force that I thought it should’ve been. And Lords Never Worry held flashes but was a bit too weird for me to really get into.
Still, thanks to a lack of releases to look forward to, L.O.R.D. by default becomes a project we should all be keeping tabs on. Stay tuned for leaks and the like. Maybe we’ll even figure out what the acronym stands for.
While we wait, feel free to revisit Lords Never Worry via the stream below and thumb through all of their free material via DatPiff.
