Jesus H. Christ. A lot of new jack heavyweights (and a lot of dollar signs in names) for A$AP Rocky’s “1 Train.”
This is really tough. One of the better collaborative cuts I’ve listened to.
I think Big Krit got this.
MTV Hive: The song “1 Train” features Joey Bada$$, Kendrick Lamar, Yelawolf, Big K.R.I.T., Action Bronson and Danny Brown. Who has the best verse on the song?
ASAP Rocky: In my opinion, Big K.R.I.T.
Oh shit didn’t even see Bronsonlino’s name so his part came as a surprise to me. I normally don’t listen to anything Asap related but I mess with this.
Same with me.
Why make rules like that? i.e. I won’t listen to anything related to x artist?
To be blunt, it’s not worth it. If previous works did not suffice for my entertainment I’d probably not go out of my way to listen to the artist especially if there was a big buzz surrounding the artist. I’d be more willing if the: artist was featured on a song with another artist that I enjoy listening to/if the artist had features that I enjoy listening to
Between this and Fuckin Problem, all of ASAPs album teaser material has been feature heavy.
This song is tough as hell though
At this point, i don’t even care if he loads every song w/features lol.
Yall peeped the track list right? Whole album is feature heavy
agreed. cause all the posse cuts actually been dope. and, they make sense. like, the pieces fit.
best 6 min song ive heard all year…
Smart move my A$AP to end the track wit KRIT verse
Been wanting to hear the final version of this for a while.
I have a soft spot for K. Dot’s and Danny’s verses, but I think everyone went in with the exception of Joey. He was serviceable, but you could note that he’s still young compared to the rest of these dudes.
I want them posse cuts that stick to the subject matter, a la “24 Hours To Live”…Thought Rocky saying “better than the 1 Train” at the end of his verse would’ve set the foundation for that.
Solid album cut.
KRIT DOES IT AGAIN!
Hes been mia for a while but damn what a way to let people know you back
Rocky went hard
Cut out Rocky and Joey, and you have an incredible song. KRIT sounded hungry!!!
nice track. could have done without yela.. seemed forced in the middle of the track.
don’t think anyone’s verse here was bad enough to warrant exclusion.
Shout outs to Big K.R.I.T for shouting out Miya Bailey at the end of his verse.
“I’m more like Miya Bailey on you muthafuckas…a true artist”
That man is one of the best artists of our time period… check him out.
I’m most def D/Ling this album on the strength of the features, because it’s all features. I wouldn’t have messed with it otherwise, since Rocky bores me to tears.
It’s also the reason I probably won’t cop. Label logic has gotten pretty confusing (load album with features to draw interest, then when album sells assume everyone likes the album artist and not the features), but if they actually could put two and two together I would have put the money on it.
Just out of curiosity, what bores you about Rocky? His derivativeness, his lack of substance, or something else altogether?
I’d have to say the monotony of his flow. He kind of sounds the same on every song, and none of his lyrics jump out at me and make me remember them. His mixtape was also ridiculously slow paced.
Monotony of flow?
I did not expect that as an answer. I would understand if you said his subject matter is too repetitive, or you’re just tired of the hype, but the guy changes his flow pretty frequently and raps with a fuckload of charisma.
“Niggas ain’t ready for the flow switch!”
I think what Aaron means is that while he changes his flows throughout songs, there’s not much variety in how he does it.
I think his mixtape had a good mi of flows, but nothing else he’s dropped since has had much variety.
I think his project will work out tho.
Song removed before I get to listen to it. Woe is me.
Yup. Saw it today at word and was super pumped, now its gone.
Album leaked already
Its like 2008 all over again, albums leaking month in advance!!
Whatever got into krit, man i hope he keeps on it….
thats what im saying. he tore this beat to shreds
KRIT, K. Dot and Danny murdered it, Bronsolini and Yela hit the Zombieland double-tap, Rocky and Joey Bad dug the grave
“That wasn’t no sample nigga!” – KRIT
can’t lie I miss tracks like this
Krizzle > Bronson > KDot > Danny > Yela > Joey > ASAP
ASAP > Krit > Danny > K Dot > Joey > Bronson > Yela
And it’s down already.
So Cappadonna Theory is in effect because Joey batted third and he wasn’t saying too much.
where else can i find this?
Can we all give credit to Hit-Boy for producing one of the nastiest beats of this year? Seems like he has a whole library of different sounds.
Man, I really can’t wait to hear this now that everybody is saying Krit snaps.
Krizzle spits hot fire
im actually disappointed that the album and this song leaked. it would make more sense for the song to come out 10 days before the album. also with this would be a great 2013 introduction to the big leauges for these “minor leaguers” as ebro so eloquently put it.
Kendrick fucked up.
Joey raps about shit Kanye talked about in 2003. Meh he got potential
A$AP has the best verse, surprisingly.
Danny won this, don’t know what y’all were listening to. “Moonwalkin in Michael Jackson’s penny loafers” “Wouldn’t hit that shit with my worst enemy’s penis”
KRIT and Kendrick were good as well. Yela had…heart? But I hate his delivery. A$AP was okay as always, he doesn’t move me either way. Bronson has had much better verses lately (check him out on “Stewed Rabo” off Meyhem Lauren’s album- absolutely SPAZZES).
Joey Bada$$ kinda sucks. Delivery’s okay bars are enhhhhhh…and he was clearly the worst here. Big Sean Bathroom Break Bars.
Take out Yela. Insert Schoolboy Q. Also Krit sounded like he was on a mission to prove something. I’m glad, he killed it.
Fuck the Web Sheriff!
