New Year’s often brings about social status updates spouting off “new year, new me.” Then, people look at their bank accounts and realize they’re the same person they were just hours or days before the year changed. Not A$AP Twelvyy. Homey’s New Year’s resolution is “L.Y.B.B.,” ie his “last year being broke,” and he’s claiming it in his latest song. Produced by A$AP P On The Boards, the cut’s one where we find the young Harlemite testifying to how money-motivated his circumstances are for ’16.

“Sh*t steady on my mind,
Sh*t, I’m heavy on my grind
See, my momma need a crib,
Daddy need ride, life is do or die”

If the paper’s what Twelvyy wants, I hope that’s what he gets. But what I really wish for him is that he drop more music this year. He released new tracks sparingly in ’15 but everything was on point and we need more of it.
