Released in the tail end of the 2011, Asher Roth’s Pabst & Jazz technically missed its shot at being on a lot of year end lists but in my unhumble opinion, it’s his best project to date. By blending his monotone thoughts of extreme consciousness with the harmonious tutelage of Blended Babies’ movement, the newly-minted Def Jam employee has set his career in forward motion, giving his next album some tall shoes to fill. That is, when Roth decides to wear them.
With such splendid musical output, the people need a leader to get them hype in the bleachers and Asher is looking to be their Jackie Moon; their Larry Legend of French Lick on his Final 4 Tour. Check the flyer for the dates and peep the “Dope” video where the PG is Hollywood Swingin’. March Madness starts in February this year, people.
