Atmosphere Ft. Brother Ali, Carnage The Executioner & Haphduzn – “Ain’t The Prettiest”

“Welcome to the future, pre-apocolypse/ Where a ratchet ain’t nothing but a socket-wrench”

Awesome line, right? Luckily, it’s one of many slick slights at rap’s mainstream mainstays amidst this new joint from Atmosphere and a few of their fellow Rhymesayers, called “Ain’t The Prettiest.” Over Ant’s murky production, these four underground soldiers separate themselves from the clutter, as part of their continual attempt to hoist both Minneapolis and hip-hop as a whole on their shoulders – a quest that doesn’t earn much notoriety, but does get them priceless peace of mind.

The thumping track serves as a promo of sorts for the label’s third annual “Welcome To Minnesota” tour, which goes down in March and features five separate shows throughout the Metro Minneapolis area. Will you be attending?
