Pusha T Talks Kanye’s ‘Swish,’ Working With Jay Z And Nas Plus Much More In His Reddit AMA

Pusha T’s Darkest Before Dawn has already surfaced online, both in its legal and illegal forms and Push is ramping up his online presence to promote the album. His latest stop was the always fruitful Reddit AMA forum where he took questions on the album (of course), Kanye West, of course, his favorite under the radar artists and a ton of other subjects.

Things kicked off with Kanye as one of the main topics. Push said Swish is “SO F***ING FIRE” and called his label boss the best producer he’s ever worked with “because he prides himself in the now and taking that to the next level.”

There were plenty of tidbits about the new album as well. He said “Crutches, Crosses, Caskets” is his favorite song of the album and the “hardest record of the year.” He also says he released Darkest before King Push as “the prelude was something that I could give to my fans without worrying about different label/radio politics.”

Push bounced around on topics, revealing “My Downfall” was his favorite Biggie song, a Hyundai Elantra was his first car and that he hopes to work with Nas and Jay Z soon. He also discussed The Wire and the character Marlo Stanfield, whose name he misspelled “Marlow” but said he was his favorite character because he was “a young aggresive gangsta he aint care about no old n***as.” Push, of course, named his debut album My Name Is My Name after a famous tirade by Marlo on the show so “Marlow” amuses me to no end.

All in all he didn’t answer many questions but his wide range of topics makes his AMA a good read. He gave his thoughts on Rae Sremmurd and Young Thug, called Kendrick Lamar “a goat,” revealed why his “Nosetalgia” video with Kendrick was in black and white and much, much more. Check out the entire AMA here.
