When Big Sean made his grand return to the scene on his birthday with “Get My Sh*t Together,” it signaled something on the horizon for the Detroit Player. It was assumed that would be a mixtape or maybe even a summertime album but it turns out it was neither. Nope, Sean has something else in store for his fans and he’ll apparently have Jhene Aiko alongside him for the ride.
Late Sunday night the pair announced that they’ve come together to form Twenty88 and they have a new collaborative project on the way April 1st. There have been mummers of a joint project on the way from somebody for a while now and The Shade Room let loose that it was Sean and Jhene last week. They called the album “a nice combination of slow and fast beats and it’s mostly Sean rapping and Jhene slaying on the hooks.”
Along with the cover and the release date, Sean and Jhene also shared what are presumed to be short snippets from the album both on their individual accounts as well as the group account.
