“What’s going on with your dude LeBron?”
“Damn, Bron just gonna let Rudy Gay do that to him?”
Those were the G-rated messages which filled my phone Saturday night while at a bar in College Park, Maryland with some friends. I was a tad bit inebriated and had no clue what they were talking about until deciding to pay attention to SportsCenter. Like clockwork, the Heat lost again obviously signifying they’ll either miss the playoffs or Pat Riley is one game closer to coaching “Miami 3:16.” What was more important, however, was what this young man Blake Griffin did to the Spike Lee’s squad.
When the Knicks win, with 39 points from Amar’e and 31 from Danilo Gallinari, they still lose. All people cared to talk about were the 44 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and three felonies Griffin committed. With the first being your standard “jump-over-the-foreign-guy’s-back-put-back-dunk,” the second was a pick and roll which culminated in BG32 assaulting and tea bagging first year man Timofey Mozgov once again. And bless his heart, but not even Gallinari could stop the one man fast break from spinning and proceeding to put him on a poster. I’m sticking to my guns – top three Clipper ever by season’s end.
