Last week, A-Trak got everyone excited with news that he and Cam’ron were planning new music. Today, we get to hear “Humphrey,” the first piece of the puzzle. Co-produced by fellow Fool’s Gold member Party Supplies, A-Trak’s upbeat, almost show tune production Killa to spit like he means, but not pushing so hard that he sounds out of place. He spends his time on the cut rehashing old memories of influences before fast forwarding to what’s been keeping him occupied today, besides hanging with JuJu, Dame and Cousin Bang.
Really, the whole vibe of the cut reminds of Cam from the S.D.E. era than the Dips heyday, which is absolutely fine with me. In 2000, it was less about his image and more focused on the music. And he was always a little more comical during those days, too.
Federal Reserve doesn’t have a release date yet but there’s conversation that says Dipset members Jim Jones and Juelz Santana will make appearances.
