Chromeo – “Night By Night”

This summer I was opening up about the hankering I’d had for some new material from the essential non-rap music group in my mind, Chromeo. It’s been two long years since their last studio release, the whimsical whirlwind that was Fancy Footwork, and all I’ve heard from these two Canadian purveyors of electroboogie is one dope Eagles’ cover and a few random-yet-generous placements during commercials for The Hills on MTV.

Now, as promo for their freshly dropped DJ-Kicks mixtape and upcoming summer album, we get “Night By Night,” a deliciously and delicate derivative of “Eye Of The Tiger” and yet another heartache from the presumptuous “Needy Girl.” Pee & Dave delivered this message via their MySpace, clearing up any confusion as to what goes where and which season they plan on heating up with brand new material.

We’re currently working on our new album. It’s set to drop next summer. But whilst you wait, we’ve decided to give away a brand new song, via the good folks at Green Label Sound. It’s called Night by Night and you can download it for free right here. It’s our first original song since the Fancy Footwork album, believe it or not! We produced it in our new Montreal studio (more on that in a bit) and mixed it in Paris with our very own Quincy, Philippe Zdar. Surface 2 Air did the artwork, Harri Peccinotti too the flicks. As always, crafted with love…we hope you like it.

Of course we do.

Now, put down that baguette and get back in that studio.
