Boston invades NYC? Since the two towns are sworn sports rivals, New York would never allow that, right?
They would and they did for New Balance and Concepts. The two Boston-based brands spread their operations, showing love to the Big Apple with an invite-only, pop-up shop event held in Tribeca on Thursday night to showcase their latest collaboration, the ‘Rosé’ 997. The shoes are done in the pinkish hue commonly associated with the celebratory drink and paired with an embossed 3M croc tongue.
The event at the posh new space marks a first for Concepts as they expand past their original digs in Cambridge. To set the evening off right, the legendary Stretch Armstrong played the tunes while drinks were flowing, courtesy of Moët & Chandon. They plan to use the location intermittently for special occasions and future release events, including both ones for sneakers and the expansion of their apparel line.
The Concepts x New Balance 997 ‘Rosé’ launches today in-store at Concepts New York and Concepts Boston, followed by an online drop coming at 12PM EST at cncpts.com.
