Just when you thought impresario Dame Dash had made it through the storm, out comes a report that Jay-Z’s former business partner is close to being evicted from his “only home.” Dash claims he’s currently $100,000 behind in rent for his Carmel, NY mansion, according to court documents filed Tuesday to stop a judge from garnishing his wages to payback a $237,078 loan. That’s not all. The documents also show the 43-year-old owing more than $2 million dollars in state and federal taxes.
So, where is all of Dame’s money?
Apparently, it’s being eaten away by past debts and child support. According to an affidavit, Dame pays his ex-wife, fashion designer Rachel Roy, $24,000 every three months in child support for their two daughters. Part of that money also goes towards payment of two Tribeca lofts that foreclosed on Dame in 2010, leaving him with an outstanding $7.3 million mortgage. The father of four is also “forced” by New York State to pay $4,341.10 a month in child support for his son, Christian. The affidavit also claims he paid nearly $20,000 in garnished wages in late 2012 for other debts. Plus there’s a pending $40,000 tax payment for “business earnings.”
Dame addressed his situation in an email statement issued by his attorney, Gregg Pinto: “I’m an independent businessman and this is what comes from business. I have the guts to fight my battles on my own and it’s entertainment to everybody else because I’m so cool about it.”
Some troubles for a man who wouldn’t wear the same shirt or pair of socks twice.
