Dear New York, Lil Wayne Doesn’t Like You

NY Senator Malcolm Smith can cancel any hopes he had of Lil Wayne apologizing to New York. MTV caught up with Weezy while in Las Vegas for the Magic convention to promote an upcoming Supra sneaker collab and gave his thoughts regarding the fallout between Nicki Minaj and Rosenberg. And Tunechi laid his cards on the table, stating “”Flat out: I don’t like New York.” He goes on to explain that he, Minaj and co. make the best of the situation as they can, since rappers typically have to go to NY to do rap things.

It’s not hard to imagine Wayne’s distaste for the place since he got popped by the Hip-Hop cops and ended up doing prison time in NY. Possibly being targeted and definitely going to jail will do a lot to ruin one’s perspective as a visitor to any city or state. Hell, I hate Ohio and Alabama due to multiple shitty experiences in both states. So bad that it’s gone a long way towards leading me to believe my luck runs out as soon as I step one foot inside the borders of either state. Nothing against the people there, but, if my parents up and moved to either state, I still wouldn’t visit my loved ones nor would I attend their funerals. I’d send a wreath, though.

See and hear Wayne’s words below. YMCMB’s three New York-born artists could not be reached for comment at the time of this publication.
