Puffy And Meek Mill’s “I Want The Love” Could Be The 2014 Summer Anthem

Hip-Hop nowadays has its unflattering traits. Music video trailers being one. Most of the time they’re worthless, fail to provide any sort of anticipation for the song and traditionally do more bad than good.

Not this one.

Maybe the tribute to the OG Nintendo system won me over. Or maybe it was seeing “All About The Benjamins” performed live (one of the all-time great party anthems). Nevertheless, Puffy and Meek Mill’s “I Want The Love” sounds destructive.

Puff’s not confusing anyone for Black Thought. But in this two-minute clip, the record appears to have all the ingredients for a mammoth Sean Combs moment – a heavy hitting beat, crisp (ghostwritten) lyrics dedicated to stunting and a rant. Add in Meek’s verse sounding crazier than six ex-girlfriends (the norm for Meek as of late) and the overall energy and sweet mother of pearls a monster is on the cusp of being set loose.

Early Prediction: Drake will add a verse at some point this summer.
