DJ Jamad & Floyd the Locsmif Present Outskirts: The Unofficial Lost Outkast Remixes

I’m undoubtedly biased against retail releases these days because they always come out sounding too mechanical. You know to expect a select amount of radio records, a few female tracks plus the requisite “these are for my hardcore fans” songs.

So in the past few weeks & months, my listening has leaned heavily towards mixtapes, mainly artist mixes & thematic releases (Eargasms 4 coming shortly), not the usual “exclusive” dominated mixtapes.

And I’m undoubtedly biased towards Jamad & The Aphilliates as a whole (Eargasms 4 coming shortly).

However, with this joint, I feel justified in saying it’s worthy of adding to your listening rotation. First of all Jamad’s mixes are hard to come by. After that (and once you get your hands on a few), you’ll find that they’re quality in all aspects, from song choice & placement, to actual execution.

This is one does not falter & lives up the bar set by Jamad’s famed Afromentals series, perhaps even surpassing it IMO.

So much so that I actually bought it.

Read that again.

You can enjoy but please consider purchasing your own copy of it or one of his other mixes. I’m in the process of saving some change to buy some, if not all, of the Operation Hot Combs series.
