Elzhi – elMatic

While it stands as the greatest Hip-Hop album of all-time to some, Illmatic is a classic to all rap fans who have experienced it. Possessing the proper amount of lyrical structure, production balance and intensity bred deep in the culture’s origins, it remains a landmark album few are willing to attempt to recreate. Detroit’s very own eLZhi stands amongst the few and the proud, but no he’s not a Marine. He’s an ex-Slum Villager, verbal enthusiast looking to solidify the ground underneath his feet for his permanent solo run.

After several years in limbo, elMatic–his ode to Nas’ aforementioned album–is finally here, costing you nothing but an ear and an hour. Co-starring Royce Da 5’9″ as AZ and featuring Will Sessions as the glue beneath the paper, it ain’t hard to tell that this should be worth checking out immediately.

Check him out, y’all. It’s Nasty Zhi in your area…
