I got to know her on my sofa/I gave her my honorable discharge and she took it like a soldier.”

Yes. Mouse is back, a week later, with leak number two from his upcoming release Mood Muzik 4, and the title of this project is making more and more sense. While the first leak, “Black Cloud,” had that therapeutic and confessional mood that always seems to add to Joe Beezy’s lyrical muscle mass, “Sober Up” uses an oft-used line from Tupac’s “Hail Mary” to strike a less apologetic tone for his behavior. Fellow Slaughterhouse spitter Crooked I contributes a nice verse that adds an air of defiant accomplishment to all the inner-conflict in the song. This track is just further proof that Eminem needs to hurry up and ink a deal with these guys.

Sounds like J. Cardim had some fun producing “Sober Up.” The beat breakdowns and video game sample give the song a less-bleak feel than “Black Cloud.” Joe’s delivery gels nicely with the music, and the hook is most definitely an anthem for smokers. Within this one song Mouse gets humble, laughs at his own jokes and smokes a B. Who knows what mood he’ll be in next week?
