LE$ – “Gold Chain” x MENACE Mixtape

If you played any casual Hip-Hop head tunes from LE$, then asked them where he resided, you’d undoubtedly hear most people say The Left Coast. However, despite the gangsta whistles and funky bass lines sprinkled throughout his tunes, he’s actually Houston all the way. Ever since A$AP Rocky proved state lines don’t delegate how you can or should style your music throughout last year, this member of the Bo$$ Hogg Outlawz has proudly echoed his name throughout the genre with MC-Eiht-applicable songs like “Doing My Thing” and “Like This,” and now he’s further cementing his refurbished sound with the highly-anticipated MENACE mixtape.

At 25 tracks deep, the latest from the casual connoisseur of gangsta rap features Mac Miller, Slim Thug, Dom Kennedy and pays homage to The Hughes Bros. classic flick by staying authentic as possible. He may not be from the South Central neighborhoods he grew up watching on DVD, but bite down on tracks like the Cardo-produced “Gold Chain” and you’ll realize sunny skies, low lows and the overall G’d up lifestyle LE$ emulates goes down in H-Town just as much as it does anywhere else on the map. Careful though, once you do download the tape below, there’s a good chance you’ll start wearing only flannel and dislike most guys named Chauncey.
