A couple weeks ago, Gotty let me know that he was worried about my musical choices impacting the health of my brain. I agreed.
But, judge all you want as my brain decays because “Touch Ya Toes” is one of my favorite songs right now. TM88, Metro Boomin, Sonny Digital, and Cash Out create a mesmerizing ode that can appeal to strippers and non-strippers alike. Songs like this are clutch when trying to power through that dreaded third set in a workout, particularly squats and lunges. Cash Out doesn’t sound like the same guy who Auto-Tuned about wearing a condo on his wrist, so make of that what you will. It took me about three times checking my phone before I remembered that it was him.
TM88 and the rest of his 808 Mafia brethren are out in full force on TM88 and Southside’s latest tape. Other highlights include Casino yell-rapping about “Pocket Watching,” and Nephew Texas Boy (yeah, this has to be one of the more interesting names I’ve seen lately) with Waka and OJ for the tough “Work.” T.I.’s kid Domani is also on there, and sounds like what a twelve-year-old would sound like. Don’t let that deter you though since the project’s a fun listen overall.
