Trinidad James – Don’t Be S.A.F.E. EP

Earlier this month, Greedmont Park collective member and fellow ATLien Trinidad James dropped his first EP Don’t Be S.A.F.E. (Sensitive As F*ck Everyday). The mood of the ten track project is summed up real well at the beginning of “Gold On My MacBook,” kicking off the song by saying “Yeah I dropped a tape, surprised myself man. I don’t know how I feel about it, other than fucking amazing.”

Ratchet ladies, yellow gold, and drugs galore are the overlying themes of Jame$’ debut effort, but the real highlight is his goofy, off-kilter approach to rapping about everyday occurrences. James is slightly reminiscent of Napolean Dynamite, but way more hood, if Corey Davis’ cover art portraying him as eerily similar to ODB is any indication whatsoever.

Bonus: Speaking of “Gold On My Macbook,” Jame$ has a video for the project’s third offering.
