Atlanta is like one of those volcanoes that erupts on the daily, constantly spitting out fresh, groundbreaking music that tends to eventually shift the sound of mainstream music. The newest group to erupt is Two-9, comprised of members Curtis Williams, Key!, FatKidsBrotha, Retro Su$h!, Wavy Wallace, MoneyMakinNique, Papa Jae, The Coolismac, DJ Osh Kosh, Originalfani, Gunner Stahl, with many other special guests dropping some gems on the project as well.
Hosted by fellow crew member DJ Osh Kosh, Two-9 Forever showcases the impressive spectrum of the talented artists. Having already produced for a wide range of rappers including Juicy J, Meek Mill, Fly Union, Lil B, Kreayshawn, and ASAP Rocky, that diverse mix of sounds is present and intertwined on Two-9 Forever as they step out from behind the production boards and tie the project together with energetic, hungry rhymes. “They Love It” is a smooth cut with a hook that’s nearly impossible to shake, whereas “9” takes it back to the trunk-rattling, trappier sounds that people might expect from the ATLiens. Lyrically, Two-9 demonstrate that they are a force to be reckoned with, closing their tape out with the Hit-Boy-produced “Cousin Harold.”
