Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll With Unkle Chip

First, let’s all admit the roller rink was an alibi to check out girls. If you could skate it was a plus, but hanging by the rail and bird-watching would be worth the trip, especially before you weren’t old enough to go anywhere else. But unlike other options like the mall or the movie theater, the facade of skates hid the fact the music made it your nightclub starter kit.

To jog your memory of that early developed girl we all used to jaw drop over, Unkle Chip tries to capture that roller rink sound by compiling classic R&B grooves in his mix, Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll. Unkle Chip masterfully blends songs we fail to remember the titles to but easily recognize. The phrase “that’s my jam” came up frequently on my first go round.

Grotesk, known for his work for Nike, Carhartt, and Alife, supplied the cover artwork for BRSR. He’s the same designer behind The Cool Kids The Bake Sale cover if you don’t recognize the former.
