As if he weren’t omnipresent enough, one Charlotte, NC radio station is keeping their air time filled with Drake’s music 24/7. Area listeners to radio frequency 92.7FM have been subjected to nothing but Drizzy for at least a day now. The station apparently employed a gospel format before changing its name Drake 92.7 and opting to play only songs by, featuring, or remixed by the Canadian rapper.

Now, as for why the programming switch, that’s unclear. As 247Urban points out, it’s likely a promo tactic by the station leading up to “a big announcement” on Monday.

Many listeners believe that Drake himself has purchased the station, but you should know that he legally cannot do it, because he is a Canadian citizen. Considering that WPZS moved over to 100.9 Indian Trail, NC, retaining the Gospel format, and that 92.7 is once again WQNC, the stunt will likely lead into a new Urban format to compete with Beasley’s “Power 98” 97.9 WPEG.

Listen via the player below or go to Drake927.com to stream live. They’re taking requests (704-548-7863) for anyone who’d like to hear a vintage 6 God song played. It’s almost a given that the station would accommodate.
