Elevating The Game With Rashad Thomas

The oft-ignored trajectory of Ohio Hip-Hop immediately doubled its worth earlier this year when a pre-Maybach Music Stalley released his breakthrough effort, Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music). But despite the billing that propelled the bearded MC into the who’s who of upcoming talent, it was a joint project thanks to the thrilling sounds provided by fellow Ohioan, producer Rashad Thomas. His maestro-like touch on bangers such as “Slapp,” “Hercules” and the “Shop (Remix)” featuring Rick Ross, have been consistent with not only the sound that has become Stalley’s signature calling, but the cementation of Rashad’s Elevator Music as a notable brand.

While digging for records for his next hit in Columbus, OH’s Used Kids, I caught up with Rashad along with Ramon Waugh of BrickWaugh Films to give him a platform to discuss his musical configuration and how he plans to keep the movement going on his solo debut, Museum.

Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music) Deluxe Edition is available on iTunes today.
