While across the Atlantic to promote The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Eminem shared a lengthy sit-down interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. Obviously, Shady and Zane most likely won’t top Kanye’s outrageous interview but they do go in-depth regarding his whole approach to creating the album. In part one, the topics stretch from Em’s want to revisit the vibe of his sophomore effort, the high expectations that accompanied the project as well as his early apprehension of working with Rick Rubin as MMLP2‘s executive producer (“I’m a super fan of Rick. So I’d probably be a little nervous…wanting to impress him.”) and more. Also, one cool reveal is when Shady says he freestyled “Rap God” “off the dome, one take.”
For all the impatient souls who don’t want to wait for the multi-part videos to release through the rest of the week, the audio full the full interview can be streamed over on BBC Radio. Anyone who wants to wait can check out the foootage of Em putting on an in-studio performance of “Berzerk” with a live band just to tide you over.
