Credit a bad day for giving EPISODE’s Hold On EP a listen. On second thought, “bad” is an unfair description. Instead, it was one of those days where the ball always seems to bounce in the opposite direction. Believe it or not, there is such thing as life away from TSS and writing. For a brief moment a few days ago, being caught up in the everyday peaks and valleys living above dirt brings, a mental escape was needed. And one was granted.
Perched near the top of my GMail’s inbox was the link to the aforementioned EP, a project that had been given special priority based off the strength “Hold On” was in personal rotation since late last month. At four tracks and a shade over 13 minutes – a real live EP, go figure – the care package of songs is a temporary escape from whatever stresses of the moment are present.
Consider the eclectic arrangement worth the listen if for no other reason the New York quartet could and should be making names for themselves over the next handful of months. And who doesn’t like saying they were hip before the masses caught on?
