Being in the car by yourself for eight hours allows a person to revisit music they haven’t in awhile. It was during this trek where Fabolous’ original S.O.U.L. Tape slid into rotation quickly reminding me how much I enjoyed the project.
It was also during said trek where I realized that was roughly around the last time I was checking for ‘Loso. The follow-up installment had its moments, but seemed to fall short on the cohesiveness its predecessor embodied.
Come Christmas Day, however, between unwrapping gifts and watching nonstop NBA games, Fab’s going to drop S.O.U.L. Tape 3. The project’s intro, “Everything Was The Same,” features Stacy Barthe and Brooklyn’s own weaving together introspective thoughts over Drake’s “Paris Morton 2” instrumental.
Glad to see Fab found that studio he was looking for. The wait seemed to do him some good, too.
