After a week’s worth of rain, I realize that I’m making my statement on these too late. Actually, I’m making my statement after GQ already gave the boots their blessings. Nevertheless, duck boots will be an item added to my fall/winter rotation as a snappy alternative to Timbs & Wallys.
I can remember keeping pairs of these over there years. Old Sportos & L.L. Beans. But now you’ve got other options if those are too prep for you.
The version by Pome is a little too colorful for my tastes but still do a whole lot to make the boots stand out. But since white boys tags, black boy swag has been deemed hood-acceptable, don’t worry about the corner boys lookin’ at you too sideways when you rock’em. In fact, they’ll probably be asking you for style cues.
If I had to go with anything other than traditional styles & colors, these Gourmets would fit the bill. With the added air sole, it updates the look & adds a touch without going too far over the top. They’ve got a mean green pair that’s flickin as well, something along the lines of what Dana Dane would rock on Delancey St. in the winter perhaps.
