Never one to rest on her laurels, rising
performance artist singer FKA twigs returns with another self-directed video for “Glass & Patron”, presented by the 2015 YouTube Music Awards.
Drawing inspiration, as well as some disturbing textiles from her baby bump, twigs visuals are artistic, haunting, rousing and confusing all at the same time. Combined with her eerie, faint vocals, the interpretive video clashes between brazen shock value and cinematic dance routines in a meadow. From what I gather, the baby bump disappears as her fully grown fetus emerges into the scarves and swims around a forest. Understand? Me neither, but I can’t stop watching.
No word yet on how the YouTube Music Awards contributed but if they are the driving force between the creativity twigs and her team have been delivering, their presence will be welcomed with open arms for future clips.
Catch up with her latest from the LP1 album and if you’ve been sleeping, check the barely safe for work “Pendulum” video for a crash course on the British Gaga.
