Floyd Mayweather Jr. has yet another woman alleging that he has abused her both physically and emotionally. This time it’s his former fiance Shantel “Miss Jackson” Jackson making the accusations.
In the lawsuit, filed in a Los Angeles court earlier today, Jackson accuses Floyd of battery, assault, invasion of privacy, defamation and false imprisonment amongst other things. Jackson alleges that Floyd not only attacked her physically on multiple occasions, but he also threatened her at gunpoint.
Jackson announced the lawsuit at a press conference while seated beside her attorney.
“I love Floyd deeply but he continued to disappoint and intentionally hurt me. I have been embarrassed and humiliated more than i could ever imagine by Floyd, who I once called my best friend and my fiance. I have tried everything I could and i have given Floyd every opportunity to do the same, to do the right thing. Unfortunately he has refused every opportunity to make things right, and it is with a heavy heart that I finally realized that the only way to set the record straight and to achieve justice for what he is done to me is through the filing of this lawsuit.”
It’s important to note that she’s not filing of criminal charges. Instead, Jackson has chosen to sue Floyd in civil court. There are many reasons why she may have decided to go this route, but either way the punishment wouldn’t end up with Floyd going to jail. In a civil case, he’d be forced to pay for damages if found guilty.
Floyd’s rapsheet is littered with alleged altercations with several women in which he was accused of threatening them and physically abusing them in a similar manner to what Jackson describes. The couple reportedly broke up for good last May and Floyd claimed he initiated the split after Jackson had an abortion.
