The dopest release to date from Nike’s Doernbecher collection has to be the Foamposite Ones dropping November 23rd. Tip of the cap to 14-year-old Elijah Diggins, who overcame Burkitt’s Leukemia and went on to design this glorious shoe. Inspired from the colorway of Diggins’ favorite basketball player Lebron James, you can go ahead and call these the red Paranormans, reminiscent of that uber limited Foam release.
We’ve seen some subpar Foamposite designs as of late, and right when I thought Nike might be saturating the market with doodoo, they tease this crazy joint. Calling them a basketball shoe might be a little misleading, unless you’re used to hooping in 6” Timbs, but the design is eye catching without a doubt. A smoke-like upper, fire engine red, and a multi colored sole? We’re in.
So wash the bad taste out of your mouth of Foams past with the upcoming Doernbecher release, and do some good while you’re at it. All of the money you use to buy these gems goes back to the Doernbecher Children’s hospital. It also makes for a good excuse for your significant other to drop $200 on some kicks. I mean, what monster wouldn’t buy shoes to help the children? Sure beats buying TOMS.
