Bad Boy Samples Mix

For young and old, here’s a mix that all can agree on so nobody’s arguing over the selections or no Spades game shall be interrupted by the constant search for music. Frank The Butcher and DJ 7L come through blessing everyone’s ears with their Bad Boy Original Samples mix which covers a lot of sounds and ground in right under 50 minutes.

The house that Puff – and The Hitmen, word up – built was constructed with more than its fair share of samples and many of the original recordings are covered here, including tunes from Love Unlimited Orchestra, Mtume, Herbie Hancock, David Porter, David Axelrod, Al Green and a host of others. There’s no tracklist, which kind of sucks but it also reinforces the idea of kicking back and letting the DJs do the work while all listeners should do is enjoy the final product.

Plus, the age old question of what’s being said on the chorus of Shyne’s “The Commission” – which I apparently knew at one time and forgot – is answered within the first few minutes of the mix, so it’s worth listening off that fact alone.
