If you were already the least bit intimidated by Freddie Gibbs, you may just be wetting your pants after watching this low-down and dirty visual to “Thuggin,” his undeniable collaboration with Madlib. And, you want to know why? Well, it’s not because we’re dumb enough to believe everything in this Jonah Schwartz-directed visual actually went down.
But, the details seem so true to form – whether it’s the ghost-like maneuvering before the homicidal lick or the one-level flat filled with more artillery than T.I.’s nightmares – it’s obvious Freddie is indeed speaking on things he’s done at one point or another in his life. While we’re not really surprised, because the product of Gary always been adamant that the stick-ups and ill-advised moves scattered throughout his music have been nothing more than a means to feed his family, seeing someone with a two-foot-long banana clip doing anything is enough to freak most people out.
Oh, and if you still haven’t copped the Thuggin’ EP for less than five bucks on iTunes, you should probably look both ways before opening your front door.
