Last week, Future had #FutureHive going nuts when he tweeted a thank you to Apple Music for his new deal. The Purple Reign rapper provided no other details, aside from making millions off tweets now. The announcement came a little before Future’s appearance on the first episode of DJ Khaled’s We The Best show and release of his new album, EVOL. Now comes the release of Khaled’s full interview with the Atlanta rapper, where he provides a little bit more insight into his new deal and the “big check” he received.

“We’re putting vibes out. We’re putting more content out. We’re putting documentaries out,” Future tells Khaled about his freshly signed deal. “We want to do short films and be able to have an outlet because I don’t have the time to make a whole movie. And I don’t like making movies where you gotta do it over and over and over again. I want to have no edit. So we’re going to be able to put out some short films, just like the music. Just like we do with the music, we get the chance to put it out when we want to put it out.”

Future also explained the inspiration behind the EVOL title, which DJ Khaled points out is LOVE spelled backwards. I have no idea why I never noticed that. “I’m showing love,” says Future. “I’m helping people recognize real love. And I’m also helping people understand about evolving. It’s like a metaphor. It means more than one thing. It means more than what it means to me. It’s going to mean something different to someone else. But it’s LOVE backwards. Evol, evolving, whatever you feel that day.”

As for the album itself, Future says he wanted to get his thoughts down and provide something new for fans, explaining, “It’s just about me creating new vibes and being able to express myself.”
