Yes. This is really happening. Following the success of the XXX parody, a feature-length film adaptation of the groundbreaking ’70s sitcom Good Times is in development. This is further evidence of my theory that Hollywood executives have a gigantic wall papered with the promotional artwork of every remotely popular show from the ’70s and ’80s that they use for drunken games of pin the tail on the box office failure.
And while calling me skeptical about this film is a little like calling DeAndre Jordan’s dunk yesterday two points, I actually hope the adaptation makes it to the production stage. That way, I can watch a mushroom cloud form over Black Twitter when they cast Mo’Nique as Florida Evans and NeNe Leakes as Wilona.
