And they say a little child will lead them. On this day 23 years ago, DeAndre Cortez Way was born in Chicago, IL. Many years later, the manchild, who adopted the stage name Soulja Boy Tell Em, rose to the top of the Billboard charts and taught us all how to “Superman that hoe” with his hit song “Crank That.” By 2010, young Tell Em would rise to top of Hip-Hop’s cash kings by raking in $6 million that year. He’s gone on to release a total of four studio albums and countless other projects.
Sure, he’s had a few missteps along the way, but we’re not here for that. This kid’s accomplished more by age 23 than most artists – or people – will do in a lifetime.
