Hit-Boy Featuring A Whole Lot Of Rappers – “Cypher”

Pick your poison for Hit-Boy’s “Cypher,” presumably off his All I’ve Ever Dreamed Of compilation. The track has a real posse feel to it, similar to those big joints that used to pop up on movie soundtracks and the label would just have every available artist come drop a verse.

The difference is this is 2013 and pulling all these pieces together isn’t as easy, unless you’re A.) in the same crew (because rap crews are clique-ish these days) or B.) you’re well connected with all parties, which it seems Hit is. There’s Peas & Carrots, “L.A. Puffy,” a dose of Hit’s HS87 imprint and a guy who’s from the era of “Pyrex pots and Guess shorts.” Hell, there’s even a Rick Ross, the rapper not the drug guy.
