Icewear Vezzo Recruits Half The Motor City For ‘Detroit Over Everything’

Resident rap fans from Detroit are well aware there’s a stigma that holds back the city from popping off on the level of other major markets. For whatever reason, the rappers in the Motor City have never really co-existed very well and in turn, residual promotion never happens and many notable local names never get heard by the masses. Well, Icewear Vezzo is sick of that sh*t.

On the heels of Eminem’s big 313-centric single, Vez felt the need the need to provide some shine for everyone who didn’t get included and put together “Detroit Over Everything.” Far from a remix, this original heater is produced by two of Detroit’s biggest local producers, Antt Beatz and Helluva, with verses from renown D-Town MCs like DBCO Payroll, K-Deezy, Team Eastside Peezy, Hydro, T Dot, Earlly Mac, Drey Skonie, Pablo Skywalkin, Dusty McFly and even Uncle Trick Trick himself.

Considering I’ve heard this played on the radio about five times and it’s only been out less than a day or two, there is clearly power in numbers. Hopefully “Detroit Over Everything” gets some shine outside the Midwest.
