This rides. Point blank, that’s about the best way to describe Isaiah Rashad’s “Mani Lux.” Thanks in part to a subdued instrumental, Rashad waxes poetics about the trappings and comforts of the opposite sex. Nearly every weekend, a playlist is created with new and old music with the purpose of riding out because that’s how I truly encompass and appreciate music. Isaiah’s tale of temporary lust sounds ideal for a Friday night drive into the city leading to who knows what as long as it ends safely. Especially with a short work week ahead.
All that said, nevermind the “Marvin’s Room” moment at the end. That was the liquor talking. And autotune.
