Okay okay, there haven’t been many highs for this seasons New York Knicks. What it means is we will celebrate the ones that do happen, like J.R. Smith shooting (or jacking up, if you prefer) an NBA-record 22 three-point attempts and knocking down 10 of them, setting a new NY franchise record. Smith’s record three-point attempts topped the 21 shot by Damon Stoudamire on April 15, 2005.
“It’s not really been a goal of mine,” Smith said after the game. “I saw the open three and tried to take them. I had to take advantage.” He finished with 32 points, five boards, three assists and two steals but those numbers weren’t enough to stop the Heat – led by LeBron’s 38 points – from winning by a score of 102-91.
