Speaking strictly for no one but myself, there hasn’t been a better album in Hip-Hop to drop since Kendrick gave the world GKMC. And Jay Rock’s uber-stellar “Money Trees” verse is a large reason why. Yes, uber.
Rock breaks down the meaning of his scene-stealing verse providing even more of an appreciation for a 16 that really didn’t need much help to begin with. Truth be told, the song sounds even better now with summer in full swing and cookouts popping up quicker than Paula Deen apology videos.
Here’s to hoping Jay has something under his sleeve set to drop at some point in the near future. Hip-Hop needs that. Or at least I do.
